Hello, there: 4 Boston tech companies welcomed new leaders this month

December 27, 2018

December is the 31-day homestretch in which we prepare ourselves for the exciting year ahead. For many of Boston’s fast-growing tech companies, preparation this month meant making key executive hires that will lend to their success in 2019. Here are a handful of major leadership hires we noted this month.

Edtech company Panorama Education added two top-notch women to VP roles this month, including Dee Zepf, who took on the position of VP of product. Zepf joins Panorama from data company ERT, where she was the senior director of product management and oversaw the development of the eCOA product line.

Lital Asher
VP of marketing

Lital Asher moved into the role of VP of marketing, joining Panorama from Cybereason, where she also held the role of VP of marketing. Fun fact: Asher was Cybereason’s first marketing hire, where she built an entire marketing department around her and watched the cybersecurity company bloom to a 350-person firm.

George Horvat
Chief Operations Manager

Agero, a leading provider of driver solutions (like roadside assistance) for car manufacturers and insurance companies, tapped George Horvat as chief operations officer this month. In his new role, Horvat will manage a national network of service providers, ensuring that drivers experience superior customer service in their moments of need. Previously, Horvat was a North American director at Wayfair, where he oversaw large parcel home delivery network and operations.

Pablo Azar
Chief Economist

Right on the heels of adding $62 million in funding to its pot, blockchain and cryptocurrency company Algorand appointed Pablo Azar as chief economist, where he will guide Algorand’s economic policies. Azar has a double Ph.D. from MIT, where he studied economics and computer science. Azar joins Algorand after 10 years at MIT, where he focused on cryptography and macroeconomics.

Allan Lyall
global VP of fulfillment

Early in December, home retailing giant Wayfair named Allan Lyall global vice president of fulfillment after he previously served at Amazon and Tesco. Lyall brings more than three decades of e-commerce and fulfillment experience with him. In his new role, Lyall will oversee warehouse operations in all geographies, product performance initiatives and inbound and outbound fulfillment operations.
