Leading up to the Customer Love Summit (new website coming soon!) on Valentine's Day 2020, we'll be holding bi-monthly meetups to bring together people across the customer and employee experience. Why? Because we believe that building great customer (and remember, employees are your first customers!) experiences is the fastest path to growth. We hope you'll join us as we hear from some of the best in the biz on how they're working on CX and EX within their organizations.

  • Title: "Can Culture Scale? Evaluating your values at 50+."
  • Description: Company values are often created when when you're a small startup, and with Appcues it was no different. A small group of passionate teammates got together at an annual retreat to develop the values that would shape Appcues into what it is today. As they've grown to 70+ people though, they've had to take a hard look at what their core values meant to them at 15 versus what they mean now at 50+.
  • Presenter: Kate LaGarde is Head of People Operations at Appcues and she spends her days focused on talent strategy and employee experience with a central goal of keeping Appcues an amazing place to work. With experience in venture backed, high growth tech companies, she's passionate about hiring and developing the best talent. Prior to Appcues, she led recruiting at CloudHealth Technologies, where she was responsible for scaling the team across the globe to over 300 people up through their acquisition to VMWare. She also worked at OpenView Venture Partners, helping portfolio companies across the US hire talent, while providing insight and guidance into recruiting, hiring, and company culture best practices.

 

  • Title: "Going Upmarket: Learning to scale the unscalable"
  • Description: When Appcues took on its first Fortune 50 and biggest customer to date, they threw every resource at them that they could to ensure they were successful. The team quickly learned they wouldn't be able to replicate that customer experience for future accounts, so they spent 6 months learning how to scale the unscalable.
  • Presenter: Lily Rosenbloom is a Senior Customer Success Manager at Appcues, helping her customers make products their users love. With a background in hospitality, she is passionate about building relationships with her customers and developing scalable CS frameworks that support and drive growth. In her spare time, you can either find her in a SoulCycle class, playing with her rescue pup, Waylon, or enjoying the outdoors with her husband, Sam.

Moderators

  • Trish Fontanilla is a Community & Customer Experience Consultant. Previous to venturing out on her own, she held roles at various Boston startups including Head of Community & Customer Experience at Freight Farms, Global Director of Community at Startup Institute, and Vice President of Community & Customer Experience at Vsnap. Trish is also the CEO of BOSFilipinos, a community focused on elevating Filipino culture through events and programming in Boston. In her spare time she volunteers through Boston Cares, mentors women entrepreneurs in the Babson College WIN Lab, supports girls in tech through Technovation Challenge, and serves on the Young Leadership Board of Rescuing Leftover Cuisine.
  • Diana Yuan is Co-Founder and VP of Talent & Operations at Indico, a provider of intelligent process automation solutions. Prior to Indico she ran various organizations during her time at Babson, including ETower, Women Giving Back, and Delta Sigma Pi. On the side, she spends time volunteering with NAAAP on their Women’s Initiative, mentoring women entrepreneurs through the WIN lab, and sits on the Advisory Board for E-Tower, OrganizeTogether and serves on the Techstars Boston Chapter Board.
