What You’ll Do

As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll work closely with our CTO and head of engineering to build a world-class B2C platform. You’ll be focused on architecture and leading small agile pods, while continuing to develop the engineering talent in house. You will be hands-on in the technology stack to help evolve the platform, while managing priorities and timelines. Our API platform is a micro-service architecture built in Java/Spring behind a suite of web apps in Rails leveraging modern javascript frameworks like React. Our infrastructure is hosted in AWS natively and through Heroku’s PaaS offering for our UI, while leveraging Jenkins for our CI/CD pipeline.

Your objectives:

  • Drive innovation and architect new product features and functionality, while ensuring code quality
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver great products and solve customer problems as needed
  • Implement design patterns for separation of concerns, code reusability, security and performance
  • Optimize platform for performance and maintenance
  • Focus on testability and automated processes
  • Understand the trade-offs between performance, scale, and business value
  • Maintain and improve agile processes collaboratively with the teams, and enable new development techniques or processes to reduce complexity, promote quality, and increase velocity

We want engineers:

  • Who have a passion for building
  • Who love solving problems
  • Who aren't afraid to wear many hats
  • Who aren't afraid to ask questions
  • Who are prepared to drink from a firehose, and still be thirsty
  • Who want to be challenged
  • Who love to share their knowledge with others, not lord it over them
  • Who can respect the eternal battle between business objectives and technical perfection
  • Who look at us as an opportunity, and not a job

  • 5+ years of experience as a software engineer
  • 3+ years experience with javascript and frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue
  • 3+ years experience in Java or .Net

  • Ability to deliver high-quality results under aggressive timelines and budgets
