B2B Marketing Lead

| Greater Boston Area

Root is seeking an experienced B2B Marketer to lead the development and execution of marketing strategies designed to meet and exceed the company’s growth goals. We are looking for someone with experience in B2B and inbound marketing that is looking for opportunities to take on ownership of our brand to help tell our story to K12 educators through a mix of conferences, content, email, social media, case studies and webinars. You'll partner with the product and sales team to create integrated marketing campaigns that use the Root story to generate leads and up-sells.

The ideal candidate will have marketing experience from a SaaS business and will be familiar with B2B lead and sales generation who can add expertise to our developing process. Ideally this person is looking for growth opportunities and the chance to take on new challenges with an early stage startup with an amazing team and product.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Drive awareness and leads around the Root Experience for Schools, which includes our Root Robot, Coding App, Curricular content and ongoing support
  • Be a key member of our GTM team by leading the development of strategic marketing plans including objectives and strategy for targeted markets
  • Develop and manage content marketing strategies that position Root as the thought leader in the industry
  • Design and execute lead generation and up-sell strategies that help sales exceed revenue targets
  • Manage overall marketing budget and allocate resources effectively based on goals
  • Manage social media strategies, develop engaging content to improve and grow followers across platforms
  • Oversee national conferences planning and execution
  • Plan and ​execute webinars to qualified leads and prospects
  • Manage external partnerships with branding and professional development agencies

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years experience of B2B or K12 marketing, preferably in a start-up or fast growth environment
  • Experience working with enterprise clients
  • A verifiable track record of consistently meeting and exceeding goals at all levels of the customer funnel
  • A firm grasp of B2B sales process and ways to move prospects down the funnel using content
  • Knowledge of Inbound Marketing or the aptitude to learn it quickly and independently
  • Strong analytical skills and business insight combined with a strong degree of creativity
  • Ability to build strong and successful relationships, effectively supporting and influencing colleagues and members of the leadership team
  • Experienced with marketing automation and CRM platforms, preferably HubSpot and Salesforce, to achieve lead generation and lead nurture goals
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
  • Bonus Points for:
  • Previous experience in K12 market
