Program Manager

Job Qualifications:

Aurora Flight Sciences is seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead a multi-disciplinary team focused on large-scale, complex autonomous vehicles. In this role, you will oversee the research, development, integration, testing and demonstration of cutting edge autonomous vehicle technologies for a military customer. This role involves direct interaction with world-class engineers, Aurora senior management, and a variety of engaged customers.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Manage and direct the daily execution of the program within contractual requirements to assure that the program’s cost, schedule, and technical performance goals are met

  • Allocate and control contract budgets

  • Formally identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate risks throughout the program

  • Report program status to senior management on a regular basis

  • Communicate and coordinate with the customer on matters pertaining to program activities

  • Prepare and present written documents and presentations

  • Engage in related business development activities, to include interacting with potential future customers, developing program concepts/strategies, and developing winning proposals

  • Provide useful customer feedback and effective business intelligence

Minimum Requirements:

  • BS in engineering (aerospace, mechanical, computer, electrical) required; master’s degree strongly preferred

  • Minimum of 7 years relevant experience, including at least 5 years of program management experience on a DoD technology development program.

  • Demonstrated experience with manpower planning, project reviews, scheduling, and budget control.

  • Experience with metrics for assessing and reporting program progress, productivity, and variance analysis

  • Excellent interpersonal, customer relationship, and presentation skills

  • Strong working knowledge of the aerospace and unmanned systems industry is highly desired

  • Willingness and ability to travel

  • Must be a US Person (US Citizen or US Permanent Resident/Green Card Holder)

  • Existing security clearance or ability to obtain a clearance
