Who We Are

Evolv is a venture backed startup developing technology to detect and prevent active shooters and terrorists from attacking the places where we expect to be safe. Together with our investors – Bill Gates, General Catalyst Partners, Data Collective, and Lux Capital – we are re-defining the physical security industry. We’re currently focused on detecting concealed threats such as firearms and explosives and are in the process of developing the next generation of our technology. Evolv’s technology is being used to seamlessly screen millions of people around the globe in stadiums, entertainment venues, performing arts centers, train stations, airports, office buildings and hotels.

 

What we seek

We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced sales executive to help grow our pipeline and meet sales targets, as well as manage key customer relationships and participate in closing strategic opportunities. Our sales executive will help grow Evolv’s presence across a broad space that includes sports and entertainment venues, hotels, transportation hubs, office spaces, and government entities. The ideal candidate will play a key role in increasing income and revenue by managing and negotiating with clients, generating leads, and qualifying prospects.

 

What you bring

You are a resourceful, savvy sales executive who has a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets. You enjoy having direct quota responsibility, and you relish the opportunities and challenges provided by working in a startup environment. You have the ability to communicate with, present to, and influence all levels of an organization, and you have a proven ability to drive the sales process from lead to close. You are able to clearly articulate the distinct aspects of products and services, while effectively positioning products against competitors. You have excellent listening, negotiation and presentation skills, as well as excellent oral and written communication skills. To be considered, candidates should have a BA/BS degree or equivalent, and should be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Startup experience in a sales executive position ($1-$20MM revenue) ideal
  • Experience with solution selling (vs. product/ transactional)
  • Ability to develop and execute annual go-to-market plans for a blended sales model (direct and channel)
  • Proven track record selling a disruptive product
  • Prior experience selling SaaS is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of the physical security space and relevant industry experience (threat detection, vulnerability assessments, video management systems, access control or biometrics) is a plus
  • Experience working with Salesforce.com, Pipedrive, or similar CRM
  • Experience selling to an existing network of sports, entertainment, and facility security contacts

What kinds of technical challenges do you and your team face?

Nearing a new product launch, we are analyzing and synchronizing sensor data acquired from our custom DAS hardware, sending it to our algorithms in real-time through multi-threaded C++ code, and tuning to maximize performance. Our HW+SW engineers work together closely, making dynamic, gratifying improvements prior to locking down the designs.
