Sales Development Representative

Root is seeking a Sales Development Representative to join our sales team. The ideal candidate will have experience in B2B sales with excellent phone and presentation skills. The Root SDR will research prospective customers, create outreach strategies, and identify sales opportunities. As a SDR, you will conduct exploratory conversations with potential Root customers and successfully position Root.

We are looking for someone to help us establish and own strategies for scale and growth who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment. Ideally this person is looking for high-growth opportunities and the chance to take on new challenges with an early stage startup with an amazing team and product.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Drive sales and develop business around the Root Experience for Schools, which includes our Root Robot, Coding App, Curricular content and ongoing support
  • Conduct high volume prospecting (60-100 activities per day) to qualify leads through calls, emails, and social media
  • Schedule discovery meetings for the sales team to further assess a school's need for Root 
  • Conduct needs qualification calls with specific prospects as assigned
  • Consistently achieve or exceed quota targets within territory through new clients and to existing customers
  • Ensure that client issues and/or concerns are managed and/or escalated to appropriate levels
  • Help implementing CRM 

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years experience with a sales or account management team, preferably in a start-up or fast growth environment
  • Experience working with enterprise clients
  • A verifiable track record of consistently meeting and exceeding revenue goals
  • A firm grasp of solution selling
  • Clear and articulate communication skills and the ability to effectively drive a phone conversation
  • Phenomenal organizational skills
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
